Collaboration is encouraged and applicants may apply individually or as team members. Proposed projects may benefit individual classrooms, an entire school, a cluster of schools, or the School Division. Application deadline is Monday, April 2, 2012.   The PWCS scholarships Web page has listings and links to scholarships available in 2012. High school counselors can provide students with additional scholarship information and application forms. Also see more scholarship and college application information specific to your child on your school's Family Connection portal. Parents must obtain a password from their school counselor to logon to the Family Connection.

• New Parent Portal Feature -- If You Forgot Your Password January 18th, 2012

  The Parent Portal was improved to allow parents and students who cannot remember their password to click "Forgot your password?" to have it easily reset. The system will email parents/students a temporary password which can be used to access the system. If you forgot your password for your school Web site, go to the Parent Portal and follow the instructions above. The password for your school Web site is the same as the Parent Portal and must be changed within the Parent Portal. Information about additional changes and FAQs about the Parent Portal can be found on the PWCS Web site by selecting “Parents – Parent Portal FAQs” on the left side tab.

• Driver Education Mandatory Parent/Student Meeting Schedule for 2011 – 2012 August 8th, 2011

  State law requires students to accompany their parent/guardian to the 90-minute driver safety class within the driver education curriculum. According to state data, teen drivers who have completed the PWCS driver education program have the lowest crash rate in Virginia. The Partners for Safe Teen Driving Program, which served as the model for the state, teaches parents about current state driving laws, discusses techniques for coaching teens, empowers the parent to assist their student in managing the high risk driving environment in our community, and offers other essential safety information. Parents/guardians are strongly encouraged to attend the program at the time their student is enrolled in the classroom driver education course. Doors will close at 7 p.m. No one will be admitted after the doors have been closed. View the schedule of meetings.
